Free CE Workshop: Reimagining Rest

September 19, 2026 10 am ET - Virtual

1 CEU for NY LMSW/LCSWs & LMHCs

This workshop introduces school and youth mental health providers to identify and disrupt chronic rest deficits to support the creation of a sustainable plan you can revisit as needed to support YOU  first.

What will you learn?

Using Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith's Seven Types of Rest framework alongside Tricia Hersey's Rest Is Resistance, participants leave with a short-term and long-term rest plan they can revisit.

  • Identify personal rest deficits across seven domains of rest

  • Understand rest as an act of resistance against systemic overextension in helping professions, with attention to the disproportionate load carried by BIPOC and early-career practitioners

  • Complete a rest self-assessment and translate results into concrete intentions

Meet the Presenters

Emily George, LCSW, MS Ed, and Paula McMillan-Perez, LCSW, of Retreat, Remix, & Revive, have over 30 years of combined experience in school social work and mental health. These native New York clinicians saw a gap in support for youth mental health providers and decided to close it. By arming youth mental health providers with professional development tools to support themselves and reduce compassion fatigue, they are increasing positive outcomes for the youth we all serve.

  • From Escalation to Connection: Trauma-Informed, Culturally Responsive Crisis Prevention & De-escalation in Schools (3 CEs)

  • Retreat, Remix, Revive: A Weekend for Social Workers & Youth Mental Health Professionals (10 CEs)
