Emily George has spent twenty years working in schools, first as a classroom teacher and later as a School Social Worker. Her practice is holistic, client-centered, and strengths-based, grounded in a culturally responsive, multi-systemic, healing-focused approach. She holds a Master’s in Education from Hunter College (CUNY) and a Master’s in Social Work from NYU, along with a Post-Master’s Certificate in Clinical Practice with Adolescents. She is certified in School Social Work and SIFI.

After ten years in her school community, Emily transitioned from her role to expand her practice in support of those who support others—especially people working in schools and with youth: educators, social workers, counselors, school staff, and more. Now celebrating its fifth year, Emily.George LLC offers workshops, consultations, and an annual retreat.

Emily is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at NYU’s Silver School of Social Work, where she teaches Clinical Practice to MSW students and serves as the Director and Lead Instructor of the Child & Family Therapy Post-Master’s Program. She also facilitates the Faboo Listserv NYC, a thriving network of more than 1,000 NYC-area social workers and counselors—a space for collaboration, resource sharing, and referrals.

In 2024, Emily co-created, co-hosted, and co-facilitated her first retreat for school social workers and counselors. Now in our third year, Retreat, Remix, and Revive provides school social workers and youth mental health providers a space for self-care, learning, networking, and peer support.

Emily.George LLC is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers (#SW-0829).

“I have worked with Emily since 2021. She has been an amazing resource to have as I continue to navigate my school social work career. Emily is responsive, knowledgeable, and always willing to help. She has helped me obtain my SIFI certification, NYU interns, and given me the tools to learn how to become a supervisor all on my own. Without Emily's guidance, I would be lost. Thank you for everything, Emily !”
